In 2017 having lost a contract to a “National Supplier” we posted a blog entitled “It would have taken a good detective to find these restaurants cleaners”. We did this because at the time, not long after the changeover, we took a call from our former client complaining about the poor standard of cleaning they were receiving.
We had left the contract three weeks previously and the message we were trying to convey in our original post is that “National Suppliers” just don’t care.
These problems continue and during a recent site visit and competitive quotation survey, we came across a cleaner’s mop bucket sprays and Hoover in one part of the building (giving the impression that work was being done) whilst the cleaner was resting during a two-hour shift in an empty office in another part of the building.
Another site complained of a team of two cleaners over claiming for hours not worked due to a failure to attend and another where a larger team would sign in and sign out at the same time and invariably leave way ahead of the allocated times.
These sites were all serviced by “National Suppliers” and the same recurring problems were and always have been due to a lack of supervision accountability and management presence and control.
